For those of you who didn't know, I have a dog: [link]
She's an Alaskan Malamute, and her name is Mocha. She's five years old now.
She had always been healthy until this past March when she started limping. We took X-rays, and she has arthritis. So we got her on anti-inflammatory medication for it, and she seemed almost back to normal.
Then some time in April, she started having stomach problems. It kept getting worse. :\ She has lost 17lbs (from 104 to 87) between mid-April and now. She's vomiting twice a day, she can barely eat, and her legs are getting weaker. And she's EXTREMELY lethargic. Our vet, who knows Mocha fairly well by now, actually asked us if we gave her tranquilizer because she was so groggy... No, she's like that 24/7 nowadays; she's just that lethargic.
The worst part is that we don't know what's causing all this. We did multiple X-rays for various checks, bloodwork, ACTH, ultrasound, and EVERYTHING is normal. Biopsy of her stomach lining is our next option (she'll be sedated -- and they'll use the opportunity for a neurologist checkup too, to see if there's anything abnormal with her brains/nerve system), but somehow I'm... not expecting much. I have this feeling that it's not going to bring up any useful results.
I don't want to ask for sympathy posts. I just wanted to give you guys an update, especially those of you who have been wondering why I haven't posted any new Haru-Sari pages recently. I am spending a lot of time nursing the dog, keeping a watch in case she needs anything. I don't know how long she'll be around...

I'm a vet tech, and I've had very similar cases where it turned out to be liver failure or a galbladder problem.
In one case, they didn't find it in the poor cat until it was too late because the vet was CERTAIN it was a kidney issue.
Hopefully everything works out for you, she is a gorgeous puppy!
But then again, it may not be the same thing, considering it may be different in cats and dogs, so keep hanging on to hope! I really hope she gets better! I will most definitely be keeping her in my prayers. ^-^

Good luck with trying to find out what's wrong with your baby. I know what it's like to discover a problem with a pet. It's not fun at all. One of our dogs has an early form of hip dysplasia, a genetic defect where the hips aren't built right, and there's nothing we can do because the surgeries are so expecnsive. We're just hoping it doesn't turn into the full-blown version where he won't live past seven years old probably.
Good luck to you and Mocha. I'll send happy thoughts, and prayers if you don't mind, your way. Don't rush yourself trying to keep your fans happy. Take all the time you need. We are patient, and we know you're human too! Whenever you feel ready, you can come back.
Again, good luck to you both.
