I would LOVE to spend 3-4 more hours on this thing, but the contest deadline is tonight AND I'm being kicked off my art computer. XD;;

Anyway, this picture was inspired by the visuals of Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story. Both were created by the same team IIRC, and both have stunning visuals. VS in particular sports amazing use of light, colors and camera angles. It shows its age, but if you can get past the low-poly-ness, it's nothing short of brilliant.

...On a second thought, I think VS has been a major inspiration for my body of art as a whole, and not just this picture. I :heart: it.

As I mentioned, I was running out of time, so it's got plenty of rough spots! AND the composition is not as tight as I want. Despite its shortcomings, though, I'm very happy with it overall. :D Look at all the cool teals and blueish purples in this picture! I don't use those colors often... So this was something a little different for me.

oh, this is really nice! I've looked at both versions of the image, and I have to say I prefer this one. The tilted angle just makes it much more uncomforable and menacing!

I was gonna say there is quite a lack of detail for it being you (especially his clothes and boots,) but then you having limited time - - well...that just sucks. :|;; It would've been totally awesome to see this piece finish. |D The tilt you gave this picture makes it good enough to make me feel disoriented, especially with how a murder just happened.

Awe, limited time huh? oh I hope that you win and that you could complete it when all is done and you have more time. X___x If it's incomplete, then I'd love to see how the finished piece would look.

Interesting that you mention the clothing and the boots. Those don't bother me much (although they certainly could use more work). The stupid DOORS, on the other hand... And the tapestry... and the plasticky-looking framing around the door... ... ... yeah, for me the background is the primary issue with this picture. Though I imagine once I polish the background to my liking, I'll end up polishing the figure more so they match.
