From where she stood, she could smell the endless plains, hear the laughing voices of her lost parents...



So here's Lyn from Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword. Uh, in an earlier version you could see distant plains, but now it's all covered by the clouds. Painted in Adobe Photoshop 7.0 from scratch. I didn't spend as much time as I should have, but I think I managed to capture the essence of the scene at least.

Another major change from the initial version is that at first, it was a daytime picture, not sunset. That explains why the sun is so high, doesn't it? >_> If you want, this is what an early WIP looked like: [link]

Why are all your paintings so good?! I'm absolutely in love with the lighting, even if as you said its kinda hard to tell what time of day it is given the angle. ' Suppose the clouds are a significant influence there. Very nice composition.

Oh mon dieu, this is so pretty. I kind of can't think of any other words because it's such an ideal scene.
