Artist's Comments
This is Andromeda "Rommie" Tao aka Spitfire. I'm not sure if her fiery temper affects her as much in combat as it does in social life. She looks pretty calm and levelheaded here. Maybe she's able to keep her cool during battle. Or maybe she's just having an eye of the storm moment, and is about to blow a gasket the size of a football field.
When I read that Rommie was a crew of a cargo ship and had a penchant for whiskey, I had a vision. I saw her standing on the deck against the setting sun, holding a whiskey bottle, her hair blowing in the ocean wind. It was a scene that I knew I had to paint. I could see in my mind the golden sunlight refracting through the glass bottle... "Wait, keiiii," you might ask, "how come this picture looks NOTHING like that?" Because I found out it was a sci-fi story. The cargo ship? It's a spacecraft. :B ... Thus happened my first serious attempt at painting an industrial-ish sci-fi background. It's pretty basic... Still took me VERY LONG, though. I learned a couple of things in the process, and I'm looking forward to doing a better job next time.  Please wish me luck, for it is a contest entry! Again, another amazing picture...'cept it's Sci-fi and that's what makes it more awesome. :'3 *is more into Sci-fi than Fantasy*;;;
Lighting is beautiful and so is the coloring as to expect from you. :B Only prob is the hand that's holding the gun. I think, from that angle, you would be able to see her knuckles.

It is something you do not normally draw, you did an incredible job! Maybe you could draw more in this type of environment sometime, I'd like to see ^0^
